Big-LinX IoT push

Navigation: Configuration > IoT > Destinations > Big-LinX IoT push

The Big-LinX IoT push page controls the transmission of collected IoT measurement data to the Big-LinX cloud platform. When enabled, the device forwards all metrics selected on the Metrics page to the Big-LinX server via the existing VPN tunnel. This provides a centralized way to monitor industrial process data from remote installations without requiring additional cloud infrastructure. The Big-LinX IoT push service requires an active and authenticated Big-LinX VPN connection, which is configured on the Big-LinX page. The status indicator below the checkbox shows whether the push service is currently running.

Big-LinX IoT push

Prerequisites

  • A Big-LinX VPN connection must be configured and active on the Big-LinX page. The push service transmits data through this tunnel.
  • At least one IoT metric must be defined and enabled on the Metrics page. Without configured metrics, no data is available for transmission.
  • The corresponding IoT data sources (Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, or OPC UA) must be configured and operational so that metric values are being collected.

Settings

Activate IOT Push service
Enables the Big-LinX IoT push service. When activated, the selected measurements are transmitted to the Big-LinX cloud platform. When deactivated, no measurement data is sent, even if metrics and data sources are configured and collecting data.

Security

Only enable the Big-LinX IoT push service when remote monitoring of process data through the Big-LinX platform is actively required. Transmitted measurement data travels through the encrypted Big-LinX VPN tunnel, but the data is accessible on the Big-LinX cloud platform according to the access permissions configured there. Review which metrics are selected for transmission on the Metrics page to ensure that only intended process data leaves the local network.
