IEC 61162-460 Gateway

Navigation: Configuration > Services > IEC 61162-460

The IEC 61162-460 page configures the maritime network gateway service on the IRF3000. IEC 61162-460 defines the safety and security requirements for the Ethernet interconnection of shipborne navigation and radiocommunication equipment. When enabled, the gateway sends cyclic syslog messages, SRP/HBT topology-discovery sentences, and BAM caution alerts on the designated 460 network interface, and it collects interface statistics, neighbour tables, and active connections for monitoring on the State tab. Changes take effect after clicking Apply, but must be saved persistently via the Save page to survive a reboot.

Note

The IEC 61162-460 gateway is available only on the DNV maritime variants of the IRF3000 (IRF3401-DNV / IRF3421-DNV). It does not appear on standard, non-maritime models.

IEC 61162-460 network architecture

IEC 61162-460 requires the device to separate three networks — WAN, DMZ, and LAN — and the 460 gateway must run on the LAN-side interface. The DNV variant is a four-port unit (there is no eight-port DNV model), so it must be operated in IP router (extended) mode on the IP configuration page to make the four routed interfaces available. You assign which physical interface serves which role (WAN / DMZ / LAN), select the LAN-side interface as the 460 network interface below, and you are responsible for defining the Packet filter rule sets that make the overall configuration compliant with IEC 61162-460.

Settings

Enable IEC 61162-460 gateway service
Enables or disables the IEC 61162-460 gateway service. When enabled, the device sends cyclic syslog messages, SRP/HBT topology-discovery sentences, and BAM caution alerts on the 460 network interface in accordance with IEC 61162-460, and collects interface statistics, neighbour tables, and active connections.

Configuration

System Function ID (SFI)
The System Function Identifier as defined in IEC 61162-460. The default is NF0001 (Navigation Function). The SFI is included in all SRP sentences used for topology discovery and collision detection.
460 network interface
The physical Ethernet interface used for IEC 61162-460 multicast communication (syslog, SRP/HBT, BAM). This must be a dedicated 460 network port.
